      Akita Business Applications is the specialist business technologies and insight division of Akita Systems Limited. We create bespoke solutions using technologies including Microsoft Dynamics, SharePoint and Power Platforms (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Apps Portals and Power Automate). We are now looking for a new Managed Service Consultant to join our team!

      About the Role

      As a Managed Service Consultant at Akita, you will be:

      • Working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the broader Power Platform to support our clients’ solutions through our Managed Service Helpdesk.
      • Responsible for multiple clients, ensuring their systems are supported, understanding their business processes and objectives, and managing client calls and interactions to provide a positive Helpdesk experience.
      • Managing and overseeing your own and other clients’ cases, including traditional helpdesk break/fix support, system changes and improvements, system administration, and consultancy and training.
      • Providing Managed Services to address client-raised cases, supporting and enhancing their systems through change requests, consultancy and training, resolving break/fix issues, and performing system administration.
      • Responsible for triaging new cases, conducting client calls, understanding their business processes and objectives, gathering requirements, and designing, documenting, and estimating solutions for changes up to five days.
      • Responsible for completing and assisting others in the customisation and configuration, documentation, and testing of client systems for changes up to five days, using standard Microsoft tools within Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform.
      • Accountable for a number of assigned clients, managing the system, understanding the client’s business processes & objectives, organising and prioritising their case backlog, and ensuring a positive.

      Core Skills

      • Possess a detailed functional understanding of the Dynamics 365 CE Suite of applications, including their standard processes and functionality.
      • Experienced in working within the Power Platform, particularly Power Apps and Power Automate, and their use cases for customization.
      • Personable with strong communication skills, effective in client interactions and team collaboration.
      • Excellent at engaging and collaborating within a team.
      • Demonstrates excellent organisational and proactive skills, with the ability to manage and distribute tasks efficiently.
      • Self-motivated and takes ownership of their tasks.

      Desirable Skills & Experience

      • A degree in Computing/IT, or equivalent.
      • Proficiency in Power BI.
      • Experience in delivering digital success solutions to both large corporate and boutique customers.
      • Microsoft Biz Apps certifications.
      • Experience with Azure.
      • Awareness of development and programming capabilities within the platform, with experience in writing basic JavaScript and C# plugins.

      What is your interview process?

      We have a thorough interview process at Akita. Usually, the selection process comprises a screening call, an assessment (role specific) and a final interview. This ensures we bring the right people into the right roles, meaning we maintain a low turnover and a motivated team.

      How does Akita support professional development?

      We are passionate about the professional development of employees and support this in a number of ways.
      Paths for development vary for every individual as they are tailored to the business needs, the employee’s goals, and their existing skillsets. It may be appropriate to utilise internal training, external training, professional qualifications – or a mixture of all three!

      How does Akita stay competitive in the IT industry?

      As a fast-paced MSP, it’s difficult not to stay abreast of new technologies! With a wide array of clients, it’s important we keep an up to date knowledge on new and upcoming technologies to ensure we can meet their needs.

      We conduct market research to maintain an awareness of products that may not yet be on the market, to ensure we can put in place the training and accreditations ahead of time.

      What is the onboarding process for new IT team members?

      We have a comprehensive onboarding programme for every new starter. Besides the team-specific onboarding process for a new starter, every individual that joins Akita will have 9 introductory meetings with Directors and Head of Department. It’s important they understand the wider business, and how their role fits into the bigger picture. This is supported by a meeting about Health and Safety, and a detailed HR induction to better understand the Company’s Employee Handbook.
