Akita were delighted to be able to support the amazing work carried out by Macmillian Cancer Support by co-sponsoring an expedition to the highest free-standing mountain in the world!
Standing an impressive 5,895 metres above sea level (over 3.5 miles!), Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is a daunting 7-day climb with those brave enough to take on the challenge, risk, altitude sickness as well as extreme elements.
Indeed, of the 27 individuals who were part of the adventure, sadly only 17 managed to reach the summit with 10 having to drop out at various stages.
Congratulations to everyone involved and well done on raising an incredible amount of money for a truly fantastic cause!
