Through a range of initiatives across Akita this year, our staff raised a fantastic £2,500 for charity. Every year we raise thousands of pounds for charities as part of our social responsibility commitment.
In the summer we donated £500 to CALM, the Campaign Against Living Miserably. One of our intrepid Sales team conquered the Three Peaks Challenge, successfully climbing Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike all in a day.
We raised £1,000 for the Kent Deaf Children’s Society, a fantastic local charity to our Kent HQ, who empower deaf children every day; supporting them from diagnosis, through school, with their friendships and through to independence.
Baxall’s Food Bank Fundraiser for Nourish Community Foodbank also received £1,000. Nourish deliver three day’s emergency food and supplies to people in time of crisis.
Our staff are already choosing the next charities to support in the coming year and we always look to support our customers’ fundraising initiatives – even if we did win the wooden spoon at Hospice in the Weald’s quiz night… better luck next year!
